Each week, students will be assigned a critical response to that week's readings. These are to be 500-1000 words in length (roughly 2-4 double-spaced pages). Prompts for the responses will be posted within the links below and all papers are to be posted in the link for the appropriate week.

Critical Responses are graded out of 5 points. Points are awarded for 5 criteria:

• Structure (an organized essay)
• Clarity (in grammar and expression)
• Depth (specific references to weekly readings to support points)
• Critical Thinking (a constructive and informed critique, rather than an emotional or unsubstantiated reaction)
• Concise (written within the assigned page limit)
