Brown's Egypt: Phot...The Tomb of Tutankhamen was unearthed by British archaeologist Howard Carter in November 1922, in the Valley of the Kings near Thebes. Weeks later, excavation was well underway and crowds were gathered when John Nicholas Brown took these photographs on January 24.
