My name is Reem Yusuf. I am from Ramallah, Palestine. I am a junior a double concentrator in Archaeology and The Ancient World and Visual Arts. I cannot recall the time when Archaeology became of interest, but I do know it was a long time ago. When I was a child, my father, who is a historian, told me many stories about the mysteries of the ancient worlds. My curiosity drove me to explore my dad’s library, which then led me to start “digging” outside my house trying to find dinosaur bones!

From a personal experience, excavating (A real excavation this time) made me aware of the archaeological and historical richness of my country. Therefore, I think what I would like to specialize in is the Near East or the Mediterranean area. However, I believe it is essential to have a wide knowledge of other parts of the world and of the various time periods in order to establish a more concrete understanding of an area. I am also interested in the scientific, the technological, and the political aspects of Archaeology, specifically, Archaeological documentaries, the relationship between Politics and evidence from the past, conservation, underwater archaeology, and museum work.
