This page has been created as a space to share links to hilarious ways in which ancient Egypt pops up in the modern world. It was inspired by the YouTube video below of wrestlers who use an Egyptian theme. Post away!

Not really a funny link, but archaeology related! The latest issue of the journal Nature Communications has a short article on information on Ötzi the Iceman, a natural mummy found by hikers in the Alps who is often quoted as the world's first murder victim. A team has sequenced his entire genome and the article presents some of their findings, such as that he had brown eyes and was lactose intolerant! You can access the article through Josiah, or in the attached PDF.

To follow up on the last post, the Sesame Street at the Met is online, and just as hilarious now as it was back then: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZfR45tRtzQ
