I am currently a first year doctoral student in the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology and the Ancient World. Originally from the UK, I completed my first degree in Ancient History and Archaeology at the University of St. Andrews, with a focus on the archaeology of Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman Greece. I subsequently moved to Sheffield University to read for the M.A. in Aegean Archaeology, which I was awarded with Distinction. My chief interests lie in addressing social change through synthetic, diachronic frameworks above the level of the site. As such, I am especially concerned with the conjunction between patterns in settlement archaeology and notions of community, and how exogenous and endogenous forces cause these to develop in tandem. In terms of practical application, I am interested in exploring how theories of change and/or stasis (network intensification; chains of practice) can explain social change in the EBA Cyclades and the MBA/LBA of Cyprus respectively.
