ABOUT ME
[email]
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brown University in Archaeology (at the Joukowsky Institute) and in Engineering (Division of Engineering). I recieved my PhD in Anthropology from Brown in May of 2008.

My research and fieldwork generally focus on the archaeology of the more recent past, particularly in the Atlantic World. More specifically.... Currently I am expanding my specialization in material culture and processes of production & innovation into a more transdisciplinary realm, by combining anthropological interpretive perspectives with materials science analyses to examine materials and their human interrelationships from the inside-out.

My other main area of interest (both in theory and practice) is in applying multi-sited ethnography to archaeology. Having conducted a multi-sited archaeological study of Greene family colonial ironworking as part of my dissertation, I am currently extending this research orientation at Greene Farm, where I am also co-director of a long-term collaborative research project see Greene Farm Archaeology Project website. I am actively involved in curating archaeological information for broader public audiences through the Ocean State Archaeologies wiki (which I manage), and through Archaeolog, of which I am co-chief blogger (editor).

RESEARCH AREAS
