The expectation of the Brown team had been the excavation of Roman houses close to the forum. Instead, during 2004 and 2005 traces of Castrejo huts were found in the bedrock. The evidence points towards the presence of a family unit at this particular place.

During the 2006 season it was decided that we should try to find evidence for the presence of a Castrejo wall and cemetary.Indeed, a Castro wall was brought to light not far from the huts. The layer above the wall contains exclusively late Castrrajo artifacts and is free of intrusions. Beyond that wall there were also several Castrejo burials found with urns place in holes that were carved in the bedrock. Future excavations might produce more evidence regarding the Castrajo burial ground. The Roman necropolis was excavated years ago and are located downhill from here. Previously just traces of some huts came to light in one of the residential quarters. Last not least there is the Castrajo balnearium that was replaced by the forum thermae.
