Oporto (=Porto) is the harbour city at the estuary of the Douro river into the Atlantic ocean. It is less thasn an hour by train, bus or car from Marco de Canaveses. The city prides itself to be one of the cultural centers of Europe with many museums, theaters and concert halls.
